Carlos Sandoval

He was born Carlos Sandoval, tenth generation Sandoval. His ancestors made their home in the oldest city in Colorado, San Luis, after migrating from the historic New Mexican Villages of Chimayo and Abiquiu. While the area is overflowing with the amazing accomplishments of the first artists that occupied this area, the Native Americans, it also gave birth to some of the world's greatest modern day artists. Having been born in this culturally rich area, Carlos recognized his calling at a very young age. He felt drawn to his surroundings; it was like all those that came before him were showing him the way. He began to seriously draw at age five. He immersed himself in what he came to know would be his life long quest, his vision, his passion: art. Carlos has traveled extensively throughout America, Mexico, the Orient, and Europe, all while watching and learning to hone his highly stylized painting techniques. Carlos moved freely between two distinctly different cultures and has captured a style unmistakably authentic and native, modern and American: Carlos. Carlos attended the Art Institute of Pittsburg, USA, The University of Colorado, USA, and The University of Seville, Spain.
